2021 UNE 3 Hour Team Challenge

2021 SportUNE 3 Hour Teams Challenge

It's on again!!!

Sunday 9 May 2021 at the SportUNE Mountain Bike Trails starting at 10am

Yes, it’s Mothers Day and what better way to celebrate than to bring your mum out for a social mountain bike race. All mothers competing during the event will get a special prize.

The format is a two person team social event with riders taking turns to complete laps. The winning formula is not about lap times and more about just having fun and participation. The winners of the UNE Vice Chancellors Cup will be judged on perseverance (keep riding), best costumes (no theme, it's an open book this year!) and most zany/entertaining transitions!

So drag out your kids, dad, mum, uncle, aunt and friends and get a team together. The trail will be ride-able for most people with short cuts if required.  This will be a great opportunity to ride with your child.

Registrations start at 9am for a 10am race start. Last lap needs to be completed by 1pm.

Entry fees are $10 for Adults and $5 for Juniors (13 -18yrs). Dirtmasters U13 are free but need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Online registrations close midnight Saturday, 8 March. Due to COVID-19 you must register online.  Non MTBA members need to have a Recreation Day Permit for $10 Seniors or $7 Juniors.

SportUNE Café will be open for business.

IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE ENTERING

Please be aware that this event is subject to current NSW Covid-19 restrictions and may be cancelled/postponed at short notice.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions entries will be ONLINE ONLY, NO registrations on the day. You must hold a current MTBA or AusCycling membership or a trial membership https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/other/free-trial

We are still using the MTBA online registration system while transitioning under the new AusCycling structure. AusCycling has advised that at present there is an issue with the online system if you have renewed or taken out at new membership with AusCycling.

IF YOU HAVE A NEW AUSCYCLING MEMBERSHIP OR HAVE RENEWED YOUR OLD MTBA LICENCE FOR AN AUSCYCLING MEMBERSHIP, YOU NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING BEFORE REGISTERING FOR AN EVENT:

Members who have a new AusCycling membership need to email their membership details to mos@auscycling.org.au. AusCycling will then set up an account in the registration system which you can use to register for events. Otherwise the system will charge you for a day licence. When emailing please explain what you are trying to do and inlcude your name, old MTBA number and new AusCycling number. AusCycling will extend the date on your MTBA membership to match the expiry dates on your AusCycling membership.  Once this is done, you will be able to enter using your MTBA number. Thank you for your patience, AusCycling are working hard to rectify the problem.

IF YOU HAVE AN EXISTING MTBA MEMBERSHIP (HASN’T BEEN RENEWED TO AUSCYCLING YET) PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE REGISTRATION.

PLEASE NOTE:

- Currently all event entries are online only
- Due to the above issue it is recommended that you renew or take out your membership in advance of entering an event to avoid missing the event entry closure period.

We will be following our Covid-19 Safety Plan which will include practicing good hygiene, social distancing and recording all attendees including support personnel. Downloading the COVIDSafe App is strongly recommended.

We will be promoting a “Turn up, Participate, Leave” approach. Please practice physical distancing (stay 1.5m apart) and good hand hygiene (hand sanitiser is provided) before and after the race. You must not attend if in the last 14 days you have been unwell (cough, sore throat, fever or shortness of breath). Anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 during the event will be required to leave immediately.

By entering online your registration will capture your relevant details required for the Covid Register, support personnel/parents/caregivers must check in by scanning the QR code supplied at registration. Anyone considered by the race organisers to be ignoring the requirements will be required to leave. Not following our plan may jeopardise future races for everyone.
