Last weekend David Harris was recognised for his huge contribution to mountain biking. He received the award for Contribution to Sports and Recreation by an individual. The following citation was read out on the day;

“David Harris has been very active in supporting mountain biking in Armidale, the New England Region and on a national level. He is not only a passionate competitor, winning the National All Mountain Cup in 2012, but he has been a key contributor to the New England Mountain Bikers club by holding the Vice President position and being the Sports Council representative.  He has volunteered unmeasurable amounts of time in his capacity as Club Coach and has worked tirelessly at race scheduling, track development, commissairing and commentating at club races and publishing information on the webpage and facebook.  He has run and planned the Armidale Active sessions for NEMTB in the last three years. In addition David has also taken on commissaire duties at races throughout NSW, at the National Rounds and the National Championships.”

Well done Harry from all the mountain bikers in New England!
