Sunday 23rd 10:30am - Off Road Social Ride Details
Have you heard
about mountain biking and never understood what it's about? Then come along for a
social introduction to the sport at the Armidale State Forest or The Piney as we affectionately like to call
it. There is no need to have a fancy mountain bike just a bike that can be ridden
on dirt tracks, a helmet, water bottle and a love for the outdoors.
New England
Mountain Bikers (NEMTB) have organised this event to give people an introduction
to mountain biking and to The Piney’s mountain bike tracks. As the tracks vary
from smooth dirt tracks to quite technical we will be catering for all abilities
by breaking into different groups.
Once you have
been introduced to The Piney you can then come back at any time to enjoy these
public tracks.
We will meet
at 10:30am Sunday 23 Sep at the 3rd entrance to The Piney. This entrance is 4.9
kms north along Rockvale Road from the Erskin Rd intersection, just
past the Tilbuster Ponds traffic bridge. There is parking on the left and right
sides of the road but please be very careful of fast moving traffic.
There will be
a $5 Social Day Licence required for all non MTBA (Mountain Biking Australia)
members to cover licencing issues. Note that there is an age restriction with children required to be over
10 and must be accompanied by a guardian (18 year plus).
We expect
that the event will go for 1 to 1.5 hours.
If you
require any more information please contact Ben Harris on 042 979 2473.
