Katherine Hosking (Middle) and Emily Wooster (right) on the podium in Bright. The National Mountain Bike Australia Championships have been run and won over the weekend in Bright, Vic. Six local riders from New England Mountain Bikers (NEMTB) made the long journey down from Armidale to compete. The have come back with four medals, two of which are gold! Katherine Hosking and Holly Harris both defended their Australian Titles from last year. Katherine blitzed the field in the Under 15 division, while Holly won the Under 23's. Katherine won the same division last year. For Holly it's the third national title in a row with the other two in the Under 19 division. This year she went up an age division, but the result was the same. The wins for Holly and Katherine means they can wear the Australian jersey for the next 12 months when they race. The other 2 medals were both bronze. Emily Wooster came 3rd in the under 15 women's race won by Katherine. Emily narrowly beat Isabella Hosking who came fourth. The boys weren't outdone with Michael Harris recovering from a bad start to win a bronze in the under 17 men's race. This was a super fast race with nearly 30 of the quickest riders from all over Australia in it. Jack Feltham also impressed with his 8th place.
