KATHERINE TURNS FOUR

This week Katherine Hosking (10yrs) managed for the first time to add a fourth 2.3km lap in the allocated 35 min New England Mountain Bikers (NEMTB) Summer Series race. This was a huge result when previously completing 3 laps was challenging enough. Katherine ended up placing 3rd female overall.

Jo Benham continued her reign in the open womens to take first place. Marinda Teseling and Barbara Hosking placed 2nd and 3rd consecutively. Holly Harris had a convincing win in the Juniors and also secured 2nd in the females overall.

The open mens was once again overpowered by Dave Harris’ insane appetite for hills. This is after Dave took out 4th place in the 380 km staged mountain bike race, Mountain to Beach, held over the previous week. Peter Hosking and Peter Harris followed in the open mens. Ben Brunckhorst once again put a very solid ride in for a Juniors achieving 6 laps to take 1st position. Lorne Gurney and Harry Michael took out the 2nd and 3rd positions.
