2015 NIXC Round 8 - SportUNE Sunday 22nd Nov

XC MTB RACE - The course is a mix of climbing, super fun descents and minor to moderate technical riding. There are some fire roads and B lines around the difficult stuff. Definitely time to hone your XC skills for this round of the NIXC Series. Around 5km per lap. This is the last race of the hotly contested 2015 NIXC Series. There will be a sausage sizzle after the race followed by the series winners presentations!

10.00am Start of Dirtmaster U13 Race on shortened course.

CATEGORIES AND RACE LAPS - The age for each category is based on the age you turn in 2015. Competitors can race up one grade. To control maximum race time junior riders may not be allowed to complete all their laps.

Open Male 6 laps Open Female 5 laps

40+ Masters Male 4 laps 40+ Masters Female 3 laps

50+ Masters Male 4 laps 50+ Masters Female 3 laps

U19 Male and Female 4 laps

U17 Male and Female 3 laps

U15 Male and Female 2 laps

Sport Male and Female max 3 laps (no winner just participation for those who don't want to race with any pressure)

Male and Female U13 20 minutes riding on a special Dirtmaster Tack.

RACE FEES $10 seniors and $5 juniors. Riders without a MTB Australia Licence will need a day licence for $20 or a $5 Participation Licence for the Dirtmasters (U13) ride.

2015 GNaTPACK Series Round 6 and NIXC Round 5 – Attitude@Altitude

GETTING THERE - The race will start at the Charleston Willows Recreation Area. To get to the start/transition area head north 4.4km along Rockvale Rd from the Erskine St intersection. Turn left into the Charleston Willow Recreation Area.

Combined Winter Series Race 4 and NIXC Series Race 4

Walcha Mountain Bike Track - Sunday 5 July 2015

The fourth round of the 2015 NIXC Series will be held at the Walcha Mountain Bike Track. To get to the race start head north 3.9km on Thunderbolts Way from the Walcha round about on Oxley Hwy in the Town Centre. Then turn right into Ohio North Road. If coming from Armidale/Uralla you will need to turn left into Ohio North Road opposite the soccer fields.

Race start is at 10.30am. Entry fees will be $10 for adults and $5 for Juniors. Non MTBA members will need to buy a Day Licence for $20 if racing or $5 for a Dirtmaster Participation Licence. The Walcha crew will be cooking up a storm on the BBQ so join us for Lunch after the race. The weather forecast this year is for a beautiful sunny day with a warm 14 degrees, perfect to smash out those laps!

Combined Winter Series Race 3 and NIXC Series Race 3 - Fat Tyre Farm - Sunday 21 June 2015

The third round of the 2015 Winter Series and combined NIXC Series will be held at Fat Tyre Farm. To get to the race start head north 17.9km from the top round about in Armidale (Glen Innes Rd) along the New England Hwy. Watch out for the old forestry saw on a post marking the required left hand turn. Drive up 20m to the gate/grid. Parking for cars can be found 30m to the left of the gate/grid. Race start is at 1pm.

The race is an XCO race with lap numbers listed below. The course is a mix of climbing, fast descents and and some technical riding. There are some fire roads and lots of B lines around the difficult stuff.

Sunday 12 April 2015 - Combined Winter Series Race 1 and Northern Inland Cross Country Series Race - The Piney (Armidale State Forest)

Racing for the 12th at The Piney. 2pm start, location is most likely at The Green which means you drive into the Piney from the gate opposite "The Rock".

Follow these directions;

1. From Barney Street head north on Marsh St toward Dumaresq St. - Go through 2 roundabouts for 1.7 kms to the Erskine St interestion.

2. From the Erskine St interestion head north out along Rockvale Rd for 4.9 kms to the third entrance/parking on the right into The Piney (Armidale State Forest), Marked as "Entrance 1" on the below map. Drive slowly (watch for walkers, horse riders and other users) into the gate along the internal road to the start location in the center of The Piney.

This will be an XCO race with lap numbers below. The course will be a mix of climbing, fast descents and and some technical riding. There will be some fire road and lots of B lines on the difficult stuff. See the track map below. The course is raced in a anticlockwise direction.

Dirtmasters - Separate section of the green track in Wet n Wild

U/13 - Separate track - 5 laps

U/15 - 2 laps

U/17 - 3 laps

U/19 - 4 laps

Open/Elite - 6 laps men, 5 laps Girls

Over 40 - 4 laps men, 3 laps Women

Sport - max 3 laps (unisex no winner just participation for those who don't want to race with any pressure)

Lap time should be approx 20 mins for the faster riders
