2018 NIXCS Races
2018 NIXCS Race 1 - Armidale Pine Forest - Sunday 27 May
The 2018 NIXC Series kicks off with the first round held at the Armidale State Forest (Piney) on Sunday 27 May 2018.
Please note that the race start will be at The Strip. This is different from the last few years. Direction to the race start are as follows:
Head north 6.5km along Rockvale Road from the Erskine St intersection (traffic lights) and turn right into Pine Forest Road.
Drive 1.5km on Pine Forest Road and then turn right at the gate.
Follow the track below the power lines down the hill to The Strip.
Race Entry fees will be $10 for adults and $5 for Juniors.
Non MTBA members will need to buy a Day Licence for $30 for adults or $18 for juniors if racing, or $10 for a Recreational Licence or $7 for a Dirtmaster Participation Licence.
Registration will start at 9.30am and needs to be completed by 10.15am. Please register online so we can start the race on time.
Race start is at 10.30am with the Dirtmasters event starting at 10am.
There will be a sausage sizzle after the race, sausage and bread $3, cool drinks $2
This is an XCO lap race with the following race categories:
Elite Male (5 Laps) and Female (4 Laps)
19-39 Male (4 Laps) and Female (3 Laps)
40+ Male (3 Laps) and Female (3 Laps)
50+ Male (3 Laps) and Female (3 Laps)
U19 Male (4 Laps) and Female (3 Laps)
U17 Male (3 Laps) and Female (3 Laps)
U15 Male (2 Laps) and Female (2 Laps)
Recreational Male (4 Laps) and Female (4 Laps) (on a different loop - Big Dogs Den and Where's Wally)
U13 Dirtmasters Male and Female U13 (on the Recreational loop).
The age for each category is based on the age you turn in 2018. Competitors can race up one grade subject to coach/commissaire approval. To control maximum race time junior riders may not be allowed to complete all their laps.
The course which will be used for the NIXCS categories is marked in black. The green course in Big Dogs Den is for people who would like to have a more relaxing race. Both courses will be timed.
2018 NIXCS Race 2 – Walcha Mountain Bike Track - Sunday 3 June
The second round of the 2018 NIXC Series will be held at the Walcha Mountain Bike Track on Sunday 3 June 2018.
To get to the race start head north 3.9km on Thunderbolts Way from the Walcha Roundabout on Oxley Hwy in the Town Centre. Then turn right into Ohio North Road. If coming from Armidale/Uralla you will need to turn left into Ohio North Road opposite the soccer fields.
