About the races……

The Winter Series races are held on the fantastic trails at the Armidale State Forest, better known as “The Piney”. The races will start at 11:30 am.

To get to the start/registration area drive out Rockvale Road to the Pine Forest. You need to continue past the whole Pine Forest and turn right into Pine Forest Road. (Approx. 6.5km from the traffic lights at Erskine St & Rockvale Rd intersection). Follow Pine Forest Road for approx 1km and turn into the car park on your right.

Racing will be on two tracks:

The main track will be the Black track (black loop marked with Black arrows and approx 11km) which is very interesting with a variety of trail types. Rock gardens, wooden structures, skinnys, rocky rollovers, tight single track, switchbacks, uphill, downhill and fast flowy sections.

The easier track will be the shortened Green Track, perfect for beginner riders (green loop marked with Green arrows and approx 5km), which avoids the more technical sections. This will also be used for the kids race.

The race categories and lap numbers for each track are as follows:

Elite male/female - 4 laps

19-39 male/female - 3 laps

40+ male/female - 2 laps

50+ male/female - 2laps
