Introduction

Armidale EvoCities Marathon Race is a 100km Solo/ Team Cross Country Marathon (XCM) event using a full Piney 17km loop. It will start at 9:30am Sunday 30 October from Charleston Willows Reserve.

The Race will use a Piney 17km loop with shorter race options available.

New sections of the Piney will be used meaning lots of new trails to ride, and only available for this race. Specs are 90% Flowy singletrack, 65% never raced on trail, 170m elevation per 17km lap.

Less Technical but high on fun and flow there are about 11km of un-raced trails. Goal is a fast and flowy race loop that all riders will enjoy. Bring your pace, bring your roadie mates, even bring your single speed. It will be less technical (Roots, Rock & Hills) than UNE 12 Hours in the Piney. All EvoCities series categories will use the full course. This is the same weekend as The Day on the Green* @ Petersons Winery – Saturday 29 October so bring family and friends and make it a weekend of music, wine & bikes.

Getting There

Race Loop

6 laps of the 17km loop

Solos, Pairs or Teams entry available. The race loop will start at Charleston Willows, across the causeway & along the river bank. Snaking gently up the hill on Why Not onto Snakes & Ladders before traversing the hill and dropping to the Green. The rebirth of an older trail Ghost leads into the flowy Bikes on Dykes & Trotters Run. Joining the fun will be Dingwit and Big Dogs Den before sweeping through the new trails Where's Wally and Wallace & Grommet. Across the river and then 6km of single track known locally as 'the Green Dream' as it's super fun flowing through the tree's but normally out of bounds. Make a final run back to Race HQ along the river, but in opposite to normal race direction. A fun 17km loop that all will enjoy. Full of flow, not Rocks, Roots & Hills.
