Last weekend Holly Harris headed down for the 2nd Round of the Subaru All Mountain Series. This was on the back of a training week with her team Target Trek in Canberra. So relaxing was not the name of the game.

Following her win in the Round 1 Holly was ready to continue her winning run. The first event was the Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) on the Friday. This time Holly found a few shoulders and could managed to muscle up to the top position and taking a very respectable 2nd position in the U19. Emily Parkes from down the coast managed to piece it together to get the 1st position. Both of these girls are completing at a very high level with only 3 Elite Women recording faster lap times than Holly!

Day 2 was the Cross Country Olympic (XCO). This course was four 5km laps with a total of 700 vertical metres of climbing. Holly comfortably took out the highest podium position by a lead of 1:39 minutes.

Day 3 was the Point to Point (XCP). This was a little unusual as this time it was three 9 km laps. Holly managed to take out first position by 0.4 seconds over a 1:22 hour race, but apparently all was in hand!

The above results meant that Holly also won the Round 2 of the Subaru All Mountain Series and maintain the series lead.

Holly’s next challenge will be the National 2013 Subaru Mountain Bike Australian Championships which will be held at Stromlo Forest Park Canberra on the 22 to 24 February. Holly will also be joined by Michael Harris, who has now taken out most of the senior NEMTB riders in the club races, Katherine Hosking, Lisa Harris and Greg Manttan. Results should we be available on the following link. Good luck to all the NEMTB riders. http://mtba.subaru.com.au/national-championships/results/
