GNaTPACK Round 4 – Taree – Taking On The Hog - 17 June 2012

What do you do to try and improve on last year’s day at The Tip? Well you get a huge inflatable pink hog – off course!

But it wasn’t just about Painy’s inflatable toy (mind you a inflatable hogs got to be a better ride than his Yeti) as the band Mumford Disben was back cranking out some great classics with their unique twist. The rock music brought a smile back on your face as it echoed through the forest as you finished a lap and pumped you up for the next.

The 10km track chosen was balanced with short sharp pinches, a couple of tree roots and some very smooth single track, if not a little skatey due to a small amount of rain overnight.

It sounds like all the NEMTB riders managed to control the slick track and tame The Widow Maker, which aggressively embraced quite a few riders.

NEMTB was well represented as you see by the following results;

Katherine and Bella Hosking took out the 1st and 2nd places in the Under 15 Females. Mick Harris grabbed the 1st place in the Under 15 Males. Holly Harris punched above her weight to take 1st place in the Open Females (Elite). Lisa Harris and Barbara Hosking placed 2nd and 4th respectively in the Female Masters. Jennifer Platts came in 2nd in the Female Super Masters while Platts Bill Platts battled with one of the biggest fields to grab 8th in the Male Super Masters. Peter Hosking finally managed a 1st in the Male Masters and David Harris placed 3rd in the Open Male (Elite).

All and all this was one well organised event which Manning Great Lakes Tip Riders and all who assisted should be proud of. It’s going to be a tough one to follow, but we're going to give it a good crack.
