Holly Harris is going from strength to strength. After moving up into the U23 category this year she managed to again collect the green and gold jersey, picking up her third National Champion title in a row. A week later she was at Mt Hutt, New Zealand, competing for the Oceania title.

At the 2013 Oceania’s in Tasmania Holly just missed out on the podium with a 4th in the U19 and had been toying whether or not to compete in the 2014 event. Following her recent strong results, not just in the U23, but comparing lap times against the Elite Women in the last round of the National Series and the National Championships, she decided to cross the ditch and have a go.

Apparently Holly’s trip across was a little eventful on many fronts but she managed to make it in time. Arriving at Mt Hutt there was also a lot banter about how technical the course was, so it just kept getting better.

So after all that Holly managed to pull off a very tidy 2nd behind the Kiwi Amber Johnston who resides in Rotorua – the NZ mecca of mountain biking.

Watch out for Holly, next is the World Cup in Cairns in April!
