Thanks to the research and guidance of David Brunckhorst, NEMTB have turned a new leaf in sustainable track construction. The Brunckhorst family have all had a close relationship with the construction of mountain bike tracks for a number of years, from developing Fat Tyre Farm to Ben’s involvement with the professional track builder World Trail (http://www.world-trail.com/).

David has been providing technical guidance, producing a number of simplified track building manuals, formal presentations and a significant level of guidance infield during design and construction. So now we have approximately 700m of world class trail which incorporates all the sustainability to ensure the trail will last a significant time longer with only minor maintenance needed. NEMTB is looking forward to utilising these principles for all track construction or rehabilitation work in the future. To get an appreciation of these principles read the resource material created by David by following this link (http://www.nemtb.com.au/home/resources/sustainabletrailbuilding).

To recognise this milestone, NEMTB in conjunction with SportUNE, will be holding a formal opening of this new section of trail prior to the SportUNE 3 Hour Fun Ride on the 16th November, MP Adam Marshall will be attending to formally cut the ribbon at the new trail head. Please arrive early on the day so you can show your appreciation of the team who put hundreds of hours into this track!
