A Weekend of Training and Social Rides

Three of the NEMTB team headed to Guyra to complete a Level 1 Teacher Accreditation Program. This is aimed at getting people onto bikes for the first time or after a long break. This course precedes the one Harry (Dave Harris) completed earlier this year which focused specifically to single track and the technical aspects of mountain biking. Well done to Dave Harris, Greg Manttan and Peter Harris for sitting through all that theory while the bikes sun baked outside.

The second NSW Bike Week event was held by NEMTB on Sunday morning at The Piney. Ben and James Harris organised the event which focused on getting people who hadn’t explored The Piney or tried riding on trails before. It sounds like it was a solid success with 15 new riders attending. I must make a special mention of one of the new comers, six year old Angus, who apparently ended up riding the entire green track. In addition to the organisers Ben and James a big thank you also goes to the Wooster family, Bill and Jenny Platts, Sonya, Lisa and Mick Harris and Steve Rumble for attending and assisting with the event.
